George Lyle Quail, 95, of Hudson, FL passed away January 20, 2013.
George was born in 1917 in Philadelphia, PA to Mother Anna May
Springer (born in Philadelphia in 1902) and Father Lyle Leeland Quai
(also born in Philadelphia in 1898). Young George spent his youth
involved in soccer, baseball and fishing.
He met Elli, the love of his life, in a chance encounter at a candy
store and were married in 1942.
During his working years he was very active in the Mason's and
achieved 32nd Degree status.
George worked for the US Army at Frankford Arsenal and retired at 55.
Since his retirement, George and
Elli traveled between Canada in the summer and Florida in the winter,
with stops in Pennsylvania and New Jersey to visit the kids and
grandkids. The couple
finally settled down in Great Cypress Village in Hudson in 1999.
George was active in the community serving a short time as a
Board Member and always ready to help where needed. George spent a lot
of time fishing and tinkering as well as watching Turner Movie Classics
recorded for him. If the film
was in black and white it had to be good. George lost his loving wife
Elli to cancer in 2003.
George is survived by his Daughter Barbaranne Reid, son-in-law Chad Reid
of Hudson, Son Bill Quail, daughter-in-law Cindy Quail of Moorestown,
NJ, Grandson Eric Reid of Newnan, GA, Granddaughters' Brooke Reid of
Hudson, Nicole Quail, Joelle Kenney both of Moorestown NJ and
Brierley of Charlotte NC as well as Great Grandsons, Brandon Reid,
Andrew Kenney, Matthew Kenney and Jason Brierley.
